Approached by hip-hop collective Coast Contra to build a complete visual identity, Cristian collaborated with the team in what initially started as a collection of album covers, but expanded over time to include merchandise, vinyl packaging, tour posters and promotional artwork.
Brief
Working closely with the group, this project marked a creative milestone for Cristian as his first full-scale project that allowed him to build a visual world and establish a distinct creative language.
Approach
Setting out to craft a visual identity that had no existing base to build from, Cristian approached the project through human connection. Developing the identity naturally through conversations, Cristian devoted time to understand their individual personalities and relationship to music to further enhance his concept.
Design
Cristian worked to balance the bold imagery with hand crafted typography and a selective colour palette to allow the band’s identity to be the main focus and develop a visual language that felt uniquely theirs.
