Larisa Joins 2026 Berlin Commercial Awards Jury
The Berlin Commercial Awards is in its 8th year celebrating contemporary visual storytelling, highlighting the voices and ideas that are helping shape the cultural landscape today. Excited to be joining the 15 person jury this year, evaluating the work spanning craft categories such as commercial, music videos and short films,Larisa takes us through what she’s most excited to see and what she hopes to take away from the experience.

What is your approach to judging, are you led more by emotional impact, technical craft or something else?
'I would say it's a mix of emotional impact, technical craft, and storytelling ability. I want to see something I've never seen before, feel something, learn something. I am looking to be surprised.'
A connector at heart, Larisa's passion lies in matching bold creative talent with the briefs that let them shine, celebrating what artists create but most excited for what they'll craft next.
A consistent advocate for access into the industry, championing and discovering unique voices and lesser heard points of view, illustrating that there's no one roadmap into a creative career.
What are you most looking forward to seeing in the judging process?
'Seeing the work! Getting to engage with artists I admire or have never heard of sounds like the perfect way to get inspired.'
What are you hoping to take away from this process?
'I hope to leave this process full of hope for the creative community. There's a lot of negativity and fear and uncertainty in the world today, and I know that any time I'm consuming and considering and meditating on great art, it fills my cup with enough hope to keep going.'

What do you hope the shortlisted and winning work ultimately says about the creative industry currently?
'I'm hoping that the featured work shows a creative industry that is full of diversity, full of untold stories finally being told, and unique perspectives finally being seen by the masses. I'm hoping to see artists going against the grain and finding beauty and magic in the everyday, as well as in new technology and niche moments.'
What does craft mean to you?
'Craft is putting your all into your art— life experience, your studies, your natural talent, your inspiration. And creating something bigger than yourself. It’s no bullshit. It’s the heart of the artist’s work. It should and does always evolve and change.'
