Shjrunken Heads 'Cremantique' - Remy Lamont
A supernatural short film exploring isolation, sleep paralysis, and a haunting carnival of late-night anxious thoughts
Born from the bleak winter lockdown of 2021, what started as a small music video collaboration between psych band Shjrunken Heads and director Remy Lamont, quickly became a six-month trip down a psychedelic rabbit hole.
An adventure of gorilla late-night film shoots, monsters, puppeteering, police evasion, and even a near-drowning of equipment and cast in a shallow freezing pond! The result? “A remarkable achievement, showcasing the director’s ability to maximise the impact of every frame. This work is a testament to the power of creativity and innovation in storytelling, and Lamont’s directorial talent shines through in this exceptional music video.” (Berlin Music Video Awards)
'Cremantique' has experienced overwhelming success across the European music video and film festival circuit, earning a total of 14 awards, including prestigious recognitions such as "Best Low Budget" at the Berlin Music Video Awards, "Best Music Video" at the Leeds International Film Festival, and "Best Music video" at the UK Film Festival London, among others. This journey has been an incredible validation of the team's dedication to pushing the boundaries of what’s achievable with a small budget and a group of independent creative people.
