The Fourth Wall is Mahboobeh’s grad film from the Tehran University of Art, which won the Zlatko Grgic Award at Animafest Zagreb 2021 and the best film prize at Fantoche Animation Festival 2021. The film depicts the themes of home, family, dreams and wishes, all confined to the intimate setting of a kitchen, a look into the central character’s imagination.
Mahboobeh’s style is experimental, exploring the worlds where animation and live-action meet to tell powerful stories. The film was screened at festivals internationally including Sundance & BFI London.
