Adobe Cannes Lions

Bold campaign artwork for the Adobe Cannes Lions campaign.

Invited by Adobe to present two artwork concepts for Adobe’s campaign celebrating the global creative community at the Cannes Lions awards.

Brief

Crafting designs under the theme ‘Made to Create. Made to Play.’ The illustrations needed to capture the spirit of limitless creativity and boundless energy, channeled through Cristian’s electric style.

Approach

With the aim of creating a design that celebrates creativity in a playful way, Cristian let his creative instincts guide him to craft the chosen piece as a reflection of his artistic practice.

Approaching the brief from a personal perspective, Cristian wanted to infuse the illustration with personal references and a belief that creativity comes from the people, places and memories that shape us.

Design

Cristian infused the illustration with subtle nods to his life and practice as an artist, a basketball playing banana in reference to Ecuador where he was born, a beaver for Canada where he grew up and developed his creative practice, and even his favourite snack, French fries. Combining the personal touches with his signature style of collage, saturated colour, graphic textures and dynamic energy Cristian created a design that celebrates the possibilities of creativity.
