Google Pixel Pride Watch
Bold and unapologetic design for Google's celebration of Pride.
Lebassis brings colour and joy to Google’s Pixel watch 4 home screen for Pride. Going above and beyond the parameters of digital illustration, Lebassis transformed the design into a living digital system.
Brief
Tasked with creating over 29 hand-drawn numerals that would come together for more than 1,500 possible combinations, each element needed to be considered and crafted to interact fluidly. Developed over a six month period with a dynamic blend of lettering and design, Lebassis transformed the lettering into a evolving design language.
Inspired by the history of queer culture, ‘Colorform’ reclaims and transforms visual elements into a celebration of freedom.

Approach
With the creative excitement and technical logistics of a new visual composition every minute, Lebassis approached this project with his passion for transforming typography into a design language, and a tool for exploring themes he cares deeply about.
Design
Bold, fluid and expressive, each shape possesses Lebassis’ signature design style, feeling both hand-drawn and glossy. Designing for a very small screen meant that each composition was considered on a practical level with readability a core focus while keeping the celebratory style at the forefront.
