The Dive (Le Plongeon)
Dive in to a mysterious animation: Bringing poetry to the public ahead of the Olympic Games.
Thomas tells an enigmatic tale for public display as part of the renovation of the Porte de la Chapelle Paris métro station. Through his timeless and textural style Thomas crafts a simmering tension between the water and the diver, the memories that drive him to the diving board, and the deep breath before the plunge.
Brief
An area known for its winding streets and lack of light, the City of Paris launched a lighting project developed by agencies Concepto and Manifesto. The premise of this project was to transform the atmosphere of the local area ahead of the Olympic Games, and to bring poetry to the public through the values of sport.

Design
Thomas crafted the film in his enigmatic style which blends nostalgic textures with an electric energy that is both lively and moody. Captivated by the power of silence, the film is reserved in its use of sound, enhancing the soundscape with ambient music to draw you into the story and into the water.
