Wellcome Collection

Editorial illustrations exploring the feelings of being diagnosed with autism as an adult.

Hayley's striking illustration style was brought to life for the online editorial section of the Wellcome Collection, a museum dedicated to challenging how we all think and feel about health. Hayley's designs were used as part of a story written by Mayenne Soret exploring her experience with being diagnosed with autism as an adult.

Passionate about challenging the perceptions of neurodiverse people, Hayley's uplifting illustration style lent itself perfectly to exploring the feelings described by Mayenne as she navigated life with her new diagnosis. Hayley's use of texture and light provides dimension and movement, conveying the initial feelings of isolation and overwhelm, to the eventual hope looking towards the future.
