Aldi Dealstream

Relaxed and intricate animations for a 24 hour stream.

Partnering with ALDI Nord to bring their ‘Dealstream’ project to life, Clubcamping crafted three chilled low-fi inspired pieces that ran for 24 hours on their Youtube channel. With the aim to create a culturally relevant brand experience for a Gen Z audience, ALDI Nord looked to Clubcamping and Accenture Song to creatively interpret the concept of ‘Dealstream’.

Brief

Answering the question of how to create a campaign that connects advertising with entertainment, authentically appealing to the target audience, CLubamping designed all three films to portray the classic supermarket feel with the warm familiarity of shoppers browsing the aisles, Clubcamping set out to meticulously design every scene and character to create the distinctive atmosphere.

Crafted to be streamed 24/7 on the brand’s YouTube channel, lo-fi music and visuals are designed to keep you relaxed, making it a popular style choice for working and studying. The aim of the campaign was to create an association between the relaxed anime-style shopping scenes and ALDI’s deals on offer to customers.

Design

Each spot was built with loops within loops, with each character movement needing to feel natural and human-like. Taking great care to design every element from the lighting to the colours of the fresh produce, all three spots are easy-flowing snapshots of everyday life.

Passionate about creating fully realised universes, each character featured across the three spots was given a backstory and motivation to ensure that, even though you only see a snippet of their life, you find them in the supermarket as a complete character.
