Dynamic 2D animation and live action mixed media.

Co-directing Ziply’s mixed media campaign three years in a row, Corey was tasked with creating vibrant and lively live action scenes that would take a common internet dilemma and seamlessly transition into joyful and colourful 2D cel animated worlds.

Aiming for lighthearted films that set Ziply apart from their competitors and also champion mixed media craft, Corey brought his masterful storytelling to the 30 second spots.

Working alongside a co-director with each spot, Corey helped craft visual metaphors for the storyline that would inform the integration of the actors into the animated worlds. To ensure the live action footage transformed as seamlessly into the animation as possible, Corey worked with Ziply to cast vibrant caricature-like talent for each role, workshopping lines and delivery live on-set to maintain a high level of energy.

Resulting in engaging and colourful spots, that remained airing for years post their initial dates due to the success, the Ziply campaign is an example of how craft-led concepts can also be fun and lighthearted.
