Coming Home

Studio Desk's Kathrin worked with the tourist board of her hometown in Austria to create a series of illustrations that explore the feeling of coming home.

The minimalist designs encourage a new perspective where all the typical associations of home-life have been washed away and you can see home for the first time, once again. Kathrin used her skills in texture and colour to make the cold landscapes of the Austrian Alps feel warm and cosy, contrasting the rough angles of the mountains.

"I left home almost 10 years ago, we come back changed, but the place, it is still what it was, has always been. Just that it feels like you can now really see it for the first time." - Kathrin
