Selfridges 'Snail's Garden'

Created in collaboration with artist Manon Cezaro for luxury department store Selfridges, Alexis co-designed a series of surreal and tactile window displays for the brand’s London and Manchester stores. Titled ‘Snail’s Garden’ the display was crafted to transport passers-by to whimsical and playful worlds.

Brief

Crafting three displays to fill the windows, each scene played with size and scale to create fantastical and colourful concepts. Bringing to life every day moments in surreal style, the nature-inspired displays were filled with anthropomorphic characters and large-scale organic forms, featuring a snail enjoying the garden of a French chateaux, a frog sheltering from the English rain, and a giant kite dancing on an imagined breeze.

Design

Bridging sculpture, 2D animation and graphic design, the displays bring a tactile and playful view to the retail space. Passionate about exploring the abstract, the combination of Alexis’ craft with Cezaro’s resulted in vibrant colour gradients, mixed textures and dynamic movement.
